Ça commence mal
Ma première péripétie avec Free fut de ma faute: j’avais compris qu’il fallait résilier sa ligne pour libérer le numéro. Avec les problèmes techniques des débuts de Free, le délai de 10 jours fut passé bien avant la moindre nouvelle de portabilité. Il a fallu 3 semaines à Free pour me dire que la portabilité était un échec, ma faute mais pas que, j’ai été privé à cause de ça de numéro pour plus d’un mois.

Une fois le forfait en place, les choses ont fonctionnés normalement (mais lentement et au gré des pannes) jusqu’au jour où les problèmes ont vraiment commencés…

Le fail de Free Mobile
Une personne, portant le même nom que me mère (qui possédait la box Free auquel était lié mon numéro) a fait une demande de portabilité manuscrite. Pour des raisons X ou Y, l’employé à été incapable de lire le numéro de téléphone à visiblement fais une recherche du nom et à enclenché un procédure de portabilité de mon numéro avec le code de celui de l’autre cliente…
Conséquence: un vendredi soir, j’ai vu que mon iPhone ne captait plus de réseau. Ça ne m’a pas inquiété sauf que ça durait (c’était au moment des pannes donc je me disais que s’en était une de plus. En fait, c’était ma SIM qui n’était plus approvisionné.
J’ai regardé sur le site de Free et j’ai vu que ma ligne était résilié.

À la suite d’une lettre manuscrite, FreeMobile à résilié un numéro qui n’était pas sur le document et ce sans me contacter un seule fois!

Après plusieurs HEURES de coups de téléphone chez le SAV Free (surtaxé pour des lignes résiliés même si on appelle depuis une ligne active <3), on nous a concédé deux mois gratuits mais le numéro était perdu.
Restant l'opérateur le moins cher du marché, j'ai à nouveau signé chez eux...

Le piège des 2 mois gratuits
On a remarqué avec un certain étonnement une facture à la fin du mois sensé être gratuit, on a donc rappelé le SAV (toujours surtaxé) et on a appris qu’il y avait un piège: ce n’était pas deux mois gratuits, ou remboursés mais deux mois payants PUIS deux mois gratuits. On l’a très mal pris: à aucun moment cette subtilité n’avais été évoqué. Les débits pourris, je faisait avec mais après ça, j’était sûr que après les deux mois gratuits (pas envie de leur en faire cadeau), je résiliais.

Aujourd’hui, nous sommes la fin du premier mois gratuit et nous avons appris le nouveau piège: le remboursement n’était pas automatique, il fallait faire une demande MANUSCRITE après les deux mois payants pour obtenir les mois gratuits.

Free Mobile, ça, c’est vraiment un coup bas, le service est à chier en région parisienne donc je ne saurais faire qu’une chose, conseiller à tout les clients Free Mobile et/ou ceux qui hésite à signer avec lui de ne pas le faire et d’aller plutôt chez B&Y ou Sosh.

En tout cas, moi, dans un mois, je part. Je sais pas chez qui mais je resterai pas plus longtemps avec cette bande d’escrocs.

Si Free Mobile me lit, sachez que la carte SIM en question va devenir un routeur pour le mois qui vient ~

Juste pour savoir, suis-je le seul dans ce cas?

I used to be a proud user of Firefox but updates after updates, the slowness finally kicked me out of its userbase
After that, I started to look for something else. And there is only one big opponent to Firefox: Chrome… But well, there is an issue.

I’m not a big fan of Google.

I use some Google services like Gmail (even if on my 4 email address, I host 3 on my server), YouTube, Reader (not for long, I’m looking for something else) and Search but I stopped to use Drive and other services.

The main reason is that I’m against their business model: they make money with what they know about you.
I’ve an iPhone, 3 computers running W7 (maybe one W8 update someday) and Fedora but nothing from Google.
Why pay for a phone twice more expensive than an Android device? Google. I read an interesting blog post some times ago: “The main difference between Google, Amazon, Apple and Microsoft is that Apple and Microsoft want to sell devices and/or software. Amazon want you to buy things on their website and Google to show you ads.”. When you buy an Apple/MS product, they are happy, when you buy a Kindle/Android thing, it just the beginning.

But, I want a new good browser!

Chromium

Chromium is the OpenSource project under Chrome: Google takes Chromium source code, add few proprietary API and tracking stuffs then change the logo and release it.

Great! I found my new best browser… but everything seems too amazing, a little bit like when you finish a math test at the half of the time, it must be a trick somewhere…

No auto-update

Chrome can update himself, silently and quite fast but it seems to be a part of the Google code because Chromium can’t. And if you’re, like me, quite paranoiac about security, it’s a huge issue, does that mean that I’ll have to find a new browser, when I was so close to find my goal?

Nah, I’m not a developer for nothing, I can create something to update Chromium.

I spent few hours to figure out how everything work and I made a small updater. It’s not perfect, only work on Windows, need to be compiled for every computer and can’t start the update itself but it works.

So, today is my first blog post, english isn’t my native langage so you’ll probably find a lot of mistakes.

I’m here to talk about AES. If you don’t know what is AES, well check that.

As Rijndael is an open algorithm, you may find it’s source code but the hardest part start here: implement it inside a bigger programm. I spent a couple of days to understand how to implement it and when I finally found the way, I decided to make a short script which allow the user to encrypt/decrypt a file: you provide the file, the output file (may be created by the script), the password and the script finish the job. I compiled a version for windows but sources are in the package and compile it is easy: you just have to remove the “#define WINDOWS” in main.c then it’ll work on Linux/Mac OSX. No dependencies, just enjoy :
